Copper isotopic analysis

The European DBS project, in addition to investigating the development of less invasive clinical testing procedures, is also investigating how to diagnose Wilson’s disease. In order to have more information and better knowledgement about Cu metabolism, in addition to determining the total concentration of Cu, we also carry out the isotopic analysis of Cu. The…

New calibration strategy: multi-energy ratios

We are glad to announce the publication of our recent study about a new calibration method, called multi-energy ratios (MER). This study uses multi-signal calibration (MEC) approaches for the determination of non-metals via high-resolution continuum source graphite furnace molecular absorption spectrometry (HR CS GFMAS), in this case, bromine. A novel approach deriving from MEC, MER,…

DUS analysis

This video explains the method for the determination of cobalt, copper and chromium in urine samples in DBS devices with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The vial containing the device with urine sample is shaken with deionized water for two minutes. We analyze the extract by ICP-MS. null Este video explica el método para…

Announcement – II Workshop about DBS and minimally invasive clinical analysis

We are pleased to announce the II Workshop about DBS and minimally invasive clinical analysis, which will take place at Amphitheatre IPREM (France), December 19th, 2019. The invited lecturers will share their experience and expertise about both subjects: Dr. Christophe Pecheyran (Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour, France), Dr. Martín Resano (Universidad de Zaragoza,…

DBS analysis

This video explains the method for the determination of cobalt, copper and chromium in DBS samples using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). We stir a vial containing the DBS with blood sample, water and internal standard for two minutes. The extract is analyzed by ICP-MS, a technique which detects low-level concentrations.
